Accreditation: We are committed to providing exceptional experiences for children.

All Legacy Academy schools are accredited or in the process of attaining accreditation. Accreditation of our early childhood programs is a reflection of Legacy Academy’s commitment to academic excellence.
All Legacy Academies follow the principles of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children. By connecting practice, policy, and research, NAEYC promotes exceptional learning experiences for children (birth through age 8), and supports educators around the globe. Their mission, to see young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential, guides their values and promotes the following core beliefs:

  • Appreciate childhood as a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle
  • Base our work on knowledge of how children develop and learn
  • Appreciate and support the bond between the child and family
  • Recognize that children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society
  • Respect the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of each individual (child, family member, and colleague)
  • Respect diversity in children, families, and colleagues
  • Recognize that children and adults achieve their full potential in the context of relationships that are based on trust and respect
  • NAEYC’s accreditation system continues to be a standard bearer for high-quality early care and education programs

Legacy’s corporate office works with each school to set high standards of quality to assist with accreditation processes to help parents rest assured that each Legacy Academy is maintaining the highest possible standard of educational excellence.

Why NAEYC Accreditation?

NAEYC’s accreditation of programs for young children represents the mark of quality in early childhood education. NAEYC accreditation began in 1985 with the goal of providing an accrediting system that would raise the level of early childhood programs. Today, over 7,000 programs are NAEYC accredited.

NAEYC accredited programs invest in early childhood education because they believe in the benefits to children and families. Early childhood experiences—from birth to age 8—have an enormous impact on children’s lifelong learning and positively contribute to their health and development. Early childhood education programs with the mark of quality benefit children with greater readiness for and success in school.
